Sensor Monitoring
HydroNode knows how often each sensor usually reports. When it stays quiet for too long, the sensor is marked delayed or offline and you can be alerted. The same status is used everywhere: sensor list, sensor page, device health, widgets and automations.
Four states
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Healthy | Readings arrive on time. |
| Delayed | No reading for 3× the reporting interval, at least 5 minutes. |
| Offline | No reading for 12× the reporting interval, at least 15 minutes. |
| No data | The sensor has never sent a reading. |
Example: a sensor that reports every 10 minutes is delayed after 30 minutes and offline after 2 hours.
Learned from your readings
HydroNode takes the typical gap between readings as the reporting interval. You do not need to enter anything. If your device reports irregularly, for example only when a value changes, set the interval yourself under Set by me.
How you are alerted
Open Sensor Settings → Monitoring. For each stage choose push, email, both or nothing.
| Stage | Default |
|---|---|
| Delayed | Silent. Shown in the app only. |
| Offline | Push notification. |
| Back online | On, through the same channels the alert used. |
- The first check of a sensor never alerts, so a sensor that has been silent for weeks does not suddenly notify you.
- At most one alert every 30 minutes. Going from delayed to offline skips this wait.
- “Back online” is only sent if you were told the sensor was gone.
- If you set a sensor’s anomaly alerts to Off, monitoring stays silent too.
Earlier or later
Under Thresholds you can move both limits. Delayed can be set from 2× to 50× the interval, offline up to 200×. Only the owner can change monitoring; people you shared the sensor with see the same status.
